Change of Major / Minor / Concentration

All major / minor / concentration changes must be submitted digitally. To make a request, log in to your Go Stockton portal. Access your Student Services tab > Student Tools > Change of Major/Minor. This form also works for declaring an interest in relevant programs. 

NOTE: See Change of Preceptor box below. 

NOTE: Students interested in Dance, Dual Degree MBA, Dual Degree CRIM, and some health-related concentrations are subject to review. You cannot declare Nursing on this form (must be accepted as a first-year student by the Nursing Admissions Board).

Declaration of Second Degree or Second Major

All second degree or major requests must be done via appointment.  

NOTE: A student may take a double major in two separate Bachelor of Science programs (Double BS) or a double major in two separate Bachelor of Arts programs (Double BA). BA and BS programs may not be combined. A Double BA/BS is possible to complete with 128 credits. It is a single degree, one diploma.

NOTE: Adding a second degree (two diplomwill require a minimum of 160 credits to complete.

Change of Preceptor (STUDENTS)

If a student wishes to change their preceptor they have two options: 

1. Ask the Faculty member they would like to have to add them as a preceptee, and the Faculty member will fill out the associated form.

2. Email Advising@stockton.edu to request a new preceptor within your major, and we will assign you a new preceptor. 

NOTE: It is the student's responsibility to meet with their Faculty preceptor each semester, and to ensure they have the correct preceptor for their major. There may be a delay in processing changes of preceptor during peak times around preceptor and open registration. If a student notices that their change of major has been processed but their preceptor has not been changed, they should immediately contact Advising@stockton.edu.

Change of Preceptor (FACULTY ONLY)

To add a preceptee to your roster, log in to your Go Stockton portal. Faculty tab > Faculty Advising Tools > Form for Accepting a New Preceptee. 

The below Academic Advising forms may be emailed to advising@stockton.edu

Please follow the directions below:

  1. In CHROME: Choose the desired form you wish to complete.
  2. First DOWNLOAD the form and SAVE the form to your computer BEFORE typing on the form.
  3. Fill out the saved form, and select "Save As" with your Last Name_First Name and Z number in the file's title.
  4. Attach the saved form in an email to advising@stockton.edu
  • Permission to Take Courses at Another Institution Form-Print and Fill
    Students must complete this form with appropriate signatures before enrolling at the transfer institution. Students may not repeat courses at another institution for which a grade below C has been earned at Stockton. Only students with a 2.0 grade average are allowed to take courses at another institution. A maximum of 64 credits will be accepted from community colleges. Students who have transferred 96 credits will not be allowed to transfer any other coursework. Students must complete 32 of their final 48 credits at Stockton. The course must be a "C" or better to transfer back to Stockton. It is the student's responsibility to have an official transcript sent to the Registrar's office after completion of the course.  Please do NOT send the official transcript back to advising; please send to the Registrar's Office, Registrar@stockton.edu 

  • Fill-and-print form for making adjustments to a student’s degree program
    Please use this adjustment form to make changes to the Degree Works. The form must be signed by preceptor, program chair and Dean before returning to Academic Advising by email at advising@stockton.edu. Once submitted, it may take between 5 - 7 business days for the adjustment to reflect on Degree Works.
